Sunday Corporate Worship

We’re thrilled you’d like to visit! Below is important info regarding our Sunday corporate worship. There is also info regarding our community groups farther down the page.

Time, Location & What to Expect

We meet Sundays from 1:45-3:30PM at Grace Alliance Church for a time of corporate worship (see map below). Our worship services are traditional but not liturgical. The songs we sing come largely from Hymns of Grace and are generally contemporary in musical style. The central focus of our worship service is the preaching of the Word of God. We believe that the church of God is “the pillar and support of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15), and that as such, it is the primary function of the church to preach the Word of God so that people can know Him and His final revelation of Himself in His Son incarnate, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Children's Ministry

After our time of singing and announcements, the younger children are dismissed for an age-appropriate Bible lesson in our Children’s Ministry. Everyone is welcome to stay for the remainder of the service. Most children ages 10 and up stay for the preaching of the Word.

There is also a separate nursing room for mothers where there is a live video feed of the worship service.

For parents with toddlers who are not able to sit through the children’s lesson, there is a separate play area where the live sermon audio is available. Moms are welcome to bring their toddlers there and listen to the preaching of the Word.

Attire & preparing for worship

There is no formal dress code at our church. In general, our people come dressed somewhere between casual to business casual. Those who lead us in worship generally dress more formally to give recognition to the greatness and the holiness of our God whom we come to worship.

The primary area of preparation for worshiping the Lord is the heart and mind. God sees penetratingly into who we are on the inside. As such, preparing ourselves before God to hear His Word and to engage with Him in worship is really the place where everyone should expend their energy.

Apart from this, we only ask that everyone avoid any clothing that will distract others from worshiping the Lord. As the Scriptures say regarding our corporate assembly, dress “modestly and discreetly” (1 Timothy 2:9).

Weekday Community Groups

Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, in various homes in the Silicon Valley, we meet together for community groups, a time of worship and fellowship and Bible study and prayer. We spend one evening working through a book of the Bible and spend the other evening discussing how we can practically apply the Biblical truths into our lives. You can find more details on our Community Groups page.
