Where does human language come from? Who populated its vocabulary? God sets the pattern for human language in the naming of the first five features of the world and then He creates man with the full capacity for language. God also creates vegetation from the ground and each after its own kind for the nourishment of His creatures.
The sky, land and seas have all been created by our creator God. What we experience every day didn’t come into existence out of billions of years of random chance, but by the logical and intelligent design of the creator God. Genesis 1 continues to amaze us with truths that the God of the Bible is the creator of the universe and the earth and all that they contain.
God is the author of the day cycle. He created the regular alternation of night and day. To our astonishment, our solar/stellar days are patterned after the day cycle that He created before He created the heavenly bodies. What is this day cycle on day one of creation? Listen to find out.
God has given to His people truth beyond measure. As Genesis 1 progresses, we discover more about our creator God and day one of creation. In pitch black darkness of space and matter, God proves His nearness and authority and goodness.
God’s existence transcends time. He already exists at the very first moment of all moments. “In the beginning God.” We discover in the remainder of Gen. 1:1 that God is eternal and that His first act of creation on day one was the creation of space and matter.
God is our Creator, and He has revealed to us how He created the world. With this sermon, we embark on a special series to better know and worship the God who created the universe and all it contains (including us!), who made Himself known to us in His Word.
Who Jesus is in His deity is truly astounding. He will raise everyone from the dead at the final resurrection and He will judge each one with full human understanding and with divine justice and based on each person’s deeds. Before those final days arrive, however, He offers salvation to all who would listen to and believe in Him.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is central to all things, even the future resurrection and final judgment. It is He who will with His voice raise the dead and give eternal life to the redeemed.
